About Me

My photo
Hello my fellow Politiores Troglodytes. This Blog is a collection of Posts, Poems, & Short Stories that I write on a daily basis. If you find it entertaining, informative, and controversial, then I have done my job properly. Thank goodness too, because Karma has been on my case of late. I'm supposed to bring fifty people into the fold or I'll have to give back the part of Einstein's brain I inherited. No, I'm not one of the Scientists who got a piece of his brain when he died. Karma said, "Eat this knowledge. It'll make you smarter!" The bargain I made with Karma was, if I could change fifty people into Politiores Populos, I would be rewarded with my very own Lamborghini. So, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! Like what you're reading, then read on. P.S. Populo is Latin for people. Politiores is Latin for educated. Troglodytes is English for troglodytes. And Einstein's brain was stolen by Thomas Stoltz Harvey after his death in 1955 and eventually divvied up into 240 pieces. If you just read that last sentence, then you have just learned something and I'm just that much closer to fulfilling my commitment to Karma!

Standing Up For Yourself

How you can stop being abused by businesses.
Stand up for yourself.
As simple as that.
My kids,
over the years,
have been embarrassed by some of the actions I have taken to get
good service,
a bargain,
a good price,
or get my money back when I've been over charged.
All the
Businesses
I mention here I believe are good quality
Companies
except for one.
That one will be mentioned last.
Now,
I am being advised by a
Lawyer
friend of mine not to mention any
Corporation
by name in case they would get wind of my little
Blog
here
and get their big shot
Lawyer
talking to a
Judge
to have a
Cease & Desist
order sent to me
and I'll have to close up shop.
But here are some of the actions I've taken to get my money back
or get quality service.
I add up my receipts outside the establishment I was just at to make sure I didn't get cheated.
A local grocery store paid me back the dollar they over charged me
and I got a loaf of
Italian Bread
they make daily for compensation.
In restaurants,
(I usually check at the table.)
I've been given
Comps
because waiters try to sneak extra charges on my bill.
I went to the corporate website of a subsandwich shop because the person taking my order was rude
and messed up my order.
(The manager of the store in question actually called me two days later, asking when I could come in for a free meal on them.)
I return items to groceries stores
and department stores for myself
and my kids.
(They appreciate me now.)
I call directly
to a game console's
Corporate Office
to get a refund on a game that I was billed for twice.
I go to
TV Network Websites
either to complain
or compliment their service.
And when I do get good service lately,
I like to say,
"I'll Yelp you later!"

That is my story and I am sticking to it!
