About Me

My photo
Hello my fellow Politiores Troglodytes. This Blog is a collection of Posts, Poems, & Short Stories that I write on a daily basis. If you find it entertaining, informative, and controversial, then I have done my job properly. Thank goodness too, because Karma has been on my case of late. I'm supposed to bring fifty people into the fold or I'll have to give back the part of Einstein's brain I inherited. No, I'm not one of the Scientists who got a piece of his brain when he died. Karma said, "Eat this knowledge. It'll make you smarter!" The bargain I made with Karma was, if I could change fifty people into Politiores Populos, I would be rewarded with my very own Lamborghini. So, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! Like what you're reading, then read on. P.S. Populo is Latin for people. Politiores is Latin for educated. Troglodytes is English for troglodytes. And Einstein's brain was stolen by Thomas Stoltz Harvey after his death in 1955 and eventually divvied up into 240 pieces. If you just read that last sentence, then you have just learned something and I'm just that much closer to fulfilling my commitment to Karma!

The Man From Mars - Episode Twenty-Two

The vividness of my dream was suddenly enhanced to the point where I saw my hands, my feet, and my reflection, in the water gardens that flowed everywhere along the city streets of Olympus Mons. That's not what the inhabitants of Mars, or Atlantis call their city. It's what us Earthlings named the highest volcanic peak on their planet.
I was in the city they call, Principiis Opus. The city of Work Principles.
The only comparable place on Earth, in which I could describe the city, would be that of Angkor Wat in Cambodia.
Clay type structures, rising high above the horizon, with giant faces of old Board Leaders and picturesque scenes of life below them.
They are pictures of men and women in action, on the lower sides of all the buildings, telling inspirational messages. Unlike the Angkor Wat on Earth, which often depicted stories of war and conquest.
Image result for angkor wat carvings
I have never been to the Angkor Wat in Cambodia or studied their language, but for some reason I could still decipher the messages here on Atlantis, told by these carvings on all the different buildings.
They read as; "You miss out on 100% of your opportunities if you don't try. The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity. Life is 10% of what happens to you and 90% of how you react to it." And so on.
All inspirational sayings, plastered in carvings, along the outer walls of every structure.
I took a moment to watch other Atlanteans, as my vivid dream showed me, that now I was one of them.
They seldom looked up. Heads were down, facing the grass paths, that lined alongside the city streets and water gardens.
Maybe it was from over exposure? From seeing the same inspirational messages day after day.
But, that is not what I felt from looking into their faces. What I saw was hopelessness. A sadness you see in people who have a mundane life. An existence that can never change.
I moved on to the main building in the square. How I knew it was the one I was looking for, I cannot answer. I just knew.
As I walked up the thirteen steps to the front entrance. The doorman immediately grab the latch, opened the cathedral type door, and greeted me with, "Good morning Vice President Johnson."
I stopped in front of him stunned. For a few reasons.
First, he knew my name. And even though I believed this to be a dream, it still threw me off.
Second, I had a title. But, if a corporation, here in Atlantis, is anything like the corporations on Earth, there could be twenty to thirty-five such figureheads with the title, Vice President.
Third, I understood the language. Again, in a dream, I should be able to understand anyone I come across who speaks to me. But, if you speak only one language, like I do, you dream in that language. But this wasn't English. He was speaking in his native tongue, not mine.
After standing there for which seemed like a minute, he asked me, "Are you alright Vice President Johnson? Did you forget something?"
And when I answered him with, "No, no. I was just thinking." He understood me.
Once inside, guards lined both walls. They didn't carry guns per se, but what I took to be a form of cattle prod. With two sharp points on the end of a stick, where a shock of electricity would be enough to handle most Atlanteans, like our stun guns can handle most Earthlings.
"Vice President Johnson," I heard a voice call from the far end of the cathedral hall I was in. It was a tall, thin, Atlantean woman. Maybe seven foot in height.
"Hurry up, or you will be late for your meeting with Chairman Unus. You know how he hates waiting. Even for you Vice President."
Her words said to hurry, but the inflections in her voice said she wasn't worried if I did or not.
As I approached, I noticed that my height was the same as hers. I hadn't noticed the size of everyone before this, just hers. I guess my dream was bringing me closer to the reality of what my subconscious thought was approximately the size of an alien race might look like here on Mars. Even my appearance changed to fit the bill.
"I see you brought the amulet with you," said the tall woman. "Do you believe it is wise to bring it to your bid of taking over the company. Won't your enemies try to use it against you, in front of the Chairman, that you are showing malice by bringing such a powerful armament to this meeting?"
There were clues in what she said. The amulet was a powerful armament. And I seemed to be one of the only ones, or maybe the only one, to own one.
But why did I have the amulet? Where did I get it? Were there more of them? And why was I trying to take control of the corporation?
The woman didn't wait for my answer. As soon as I was close enough to her, she waved a hand passed a wall and part of the wall slid open to reveal a brightly lit corridor, with an escalator moving in only one direction. Up.
We both moved into the corridor and the wall closed behind us.
Somehow, I knew, this was the moment of truth.
To what? I am just about to find out.

Live To The Fullest

On
Wednesday's,
I like to
Rant & Rave
about things in my
Life,
your
Life,
the
Media,
or in the
Government
which really piss me off!
Today will be a little bit different.
I went to see my
Doctor
this morning
and received some bad news.
Before I tell you anymore,
let us say I will have to go to a
Pulmonary Specialist
first,
before I start whining about my situation in life.
Do I have any regrets about how I have lived my life?
Would I have changed anything in my past acts of debauchery?
If I remember the ending to the movie
correctly,
staring
Angelina Jolie,
about the life of
Super-Model Gia Carangi,
when asked on her death bed from aids if she would have done anything different,
she looks into the camera
and just smiles.
Smiles like,
are you kidding?

Sibling Rivalry

Again,
I have been away too long from writing on this
Blog.
I can complain all day long about my disabilities,
but the only thing that will do for some of you,
is make you feel sorry for me.
Everyone else,
including myself,
will say it's just another excuse.
Many people have fought through their disabilities to do great things in this world,
and I can only hope that someday I will do something great too!
But,
this is not the first time I have whined about something on this
Blog.
Matter-Of-Fact,
it seems I do it quite often.
Here is a
Post
from
Monday, September 2, 2013
called

My younger sister, who will remain nameless to protect the innocent, visited this
Blog
the other day.

Hallelujah, a member of my immediate family actually took the time to give me a little support.

Do I sound bitter here? I hope not.

Well, I'm not giving my family enough credit.

My
Sister and
Brother are just now entering the home stretch as far as raising a family goes.

I was the lucky one out of the bunch who was able to retire at the ripe old age of fifty-three.

(Ha-Ha)

I would like to thank my sister, for taking the time out of her busy schedule, she's a teacher don't you know, to visit my
Blog
and actually comment on it.

Oh, she didn't comment on the
Blog
itself.

No, she had to send me a separate email to tell me what she thought.

What a little trooper!

I hope you have enjoyed this episode of "Who Will Read My Blog?"

Today Sponsor is, Sibling Rivalry.

This motivates the child to do whatever the parents want in order to regain their favor. Hurray! It's Friday!

First of all,
I want to apologies for not writing an
Episode
of
"The Man From Mars"
yesterday.
It was the first time I have missed a
Thursday Post
in twenty-one weeks.
I can give you excuses on why,
but let us just say,
Work,
Stress,
Health,
and
Anxiety,
got in my way.
The usual daily routine most of have to endure to get by each week.
Which leads me to an old
Chinese
saying:
"A place of business is like a tree full of monkeys, all on different limbs, and at different levels. The monkeys on top look down and see a tree full of smiling faces. The monkeys on the bottom look up and see nothing but assholes."
Not all jobs are the same.
I actually like what I do but,
some days are better then others.
"How is Christmas like your job? You do all the work and the fat guy in the suit gets all the credit."
Some days are as smooth as silk.
Some days your equipment breaks down.
"A doctor reaches into his smock to get a pen to write a prescription and pulls out a rectal thermometer. Oh, damn it, he proclaims, "Some asshole has my pen!"
But at least I can tell you that all the people I meet nowadays,
are so very intelligent.
Like this
Blond
I met the other day who told me this story.
I was undressing for a bath and while I was standing there naked, someone knocked at the door. So I asked, "Who is it?"
A man's voice answers, "A blind salesman."
So I thought, what a thrill it would be by having the blind man in the room while I'm naked. So I let him in.
The man walks in, looks straight at me and says, "Uhhhh, well hello there, can I sell you a blind, dearie...?"

Hot, Hotter, Hottest

I am getting wimpy in my old age.
Let us say that sixty is the new forty.
Whatever that means.
The reason I would call myself wimpy is because of the weather outside my house.
At 12:38 pm the temperature is 98 degrees.
In my teen years,
I cherished days this warm in
Wisconsin.
In my twenties,
it wouldn't even slow me down when I worked as a carpenter in
Houston, Texas.
In my thirties,
I discovered I no longer liked to work hard,
so I found jobs in air-conditioned office buildings instead.
In my forties,
my office was my air-conditioned car,
since I became a traveling salesman.
In my fifties,
well I retired at age fifty-three so i can't really comment on that decade.
But now,
in my fifth year of being in my sixties,
I can't leave my house,
to start up my air-conditioned car without complaining!
I find that heat has the opposite effect on me today.
When it's this hot,
I don't want to do a thing.
So,
I am going to reprise a
Post
I wrote on
Saturday, March 30, 2013
called
Poetry.
Because I am too tired mentally to think of anything new.
*****
Readers,
  check out my poem,
under the heading called

If you like what you read,
comment on my poem!
I do have to explain one detail in the poem though.
There is a line in the poem that reads,
"starve the bardies."
The line is an
 Australian
slang,
which means,
"an exclamation of surprise or protest."
To my surprise,
people have read it as,
"starve the barbies."
Like that would make any sense!

Starting Today

Since,
I am once again busy,
with family
and a job,
I am not able to find the time needed to write on this blog everyday.
I am going to schedule my work around the weekends going forward,
which should give me more time during the week.
What I want to do,
Starting Today,
is go back
and re-post some of my more memorable
Posts
on the days I can't find time to write.
Today,
I have over
690 Posts
to choose from.
Of course,
I believe they are all great,
but I will be more objective when it comes time to re-post.
I will be starting off with the very first
Post
I wrote for this
Blog,
to show you how far I have come in my writing ability.
Don't judge it too harshly.
Its name?

To purchase the book you will have to sign up for a

How Absurd?

"Have you seen what Professor Deus is doing with the creation of his universes?" Asked one enlightened entity.
"Not really. Why don't you tell me a little about it." Answered the second enlightened one.
"Well, the little organisms, which become self conscious, from one star system to the next, do the usual. They build empires, forge alliances, and wage war. They forge weapons, from the time they can carry, what they call sticks, to sophisticated fusion armament, to mind control over the weaker minds of the species. They do this for a piece of a planet or planetary system. Rocks that they can make shiny and call them valuable. And liquids which fuel their weaponry, that one alliance has which another doesn't." The first enlightened entity told the other.
"Is he still making conscious life forms?" Asked the second entity. Like it was so passé.
"Yes. But get this." The first entity said with a smile. "One of the smallest planets, towards the outer reaches of a spiral galaxy, still in its primitive fusion state of advancement, has some how decided that Professor Deus exists. Almost all the puny minds agree that he exists, but they can't agree how or in what fashion. They actually wage war over who is right."
"How absurd?" Replied the second entity with an equally wry smile.
He pauses for a moment, then asks his friend, "What do they do with this knowledge, the knowing of Deus?"
"They praise him. They refer to it as, religion. And they call Deus, God." The entity answered.
The second enlightened one thought about this for a moment, then asked the other enlightened one, "And they wage war over who is right about Deus?"
    "Yes." The first entity answered.
"How absurd?" Said the second one.

The 5 Best Posts Of May, 2017

It is one of my favorite times of each month.
To see what you,
the reader,
have chosen as the
Best Posts
of the previous month.
You do this by reading,
coming back and reading again,
then telling your friends to read some of my
Posts.
The numbers always prove which are the most popular
Posts
of each month.
Yeah!
I know.
I can feel the excitement in the air myself.
So,
instead of dragging this along any longer,
Here are the
5 Best Posts of May, 2017.
Starting with -
The 5th Best Post of May;
A story I wrote about an actual Earth like planet called Gliese 581C. How inhabitants came from that planet, to return to Earth, which their ancestors originally came from. I don't want to give the plot totally away, but it seems I do have to explain one thing. The term "The Greys" refer to the type of Aliens people have seen throughout history which have the large black eyes. You will have to read the story to see why I have to explain the Greys.

The 4th Best Post of May is;
A Post I wrote about being a Sci-Fi Geek. How I am a Trekkie and a Whovian, from the early 1970s. How I like the Movie Experience and how that weekend I was going to get my fix of Sci-Fi by going to see the movie; The Power Rangers. Which I thought was really well done compared to all previous Power Ranger movies.

The 3rd Best Post of May is;
The Man From Mars - Episode Sixteen
My weekly Thursday serial about a Earthling who is given an amulet by a Martian and the trials and tribulation he goes through because of it. Like all my Posts, I have a picture which is associated with the story. This picture of a car is connected to the story.

The 2nd Best Post of May is;
How Do You Think?
I was thinking about, why some people think the way they do. I was questioning why a friend of mine always thinks like a criminal. He is always in trouble and he can't figure out why. I researched the internet and found nothing but crap on the subject. I am still confused why some people just can't be happy without the "Hustle."

The Number 1 Best Post of May, 2017 is;
Seriously Now
My humorous way of thanking "jac m" for becoming the Twenty-Six Follower of this Blog. Everybody is welcomed to come on board, and I would probably write about you too, but I am so happy that so many just take the time to read my Blog. Thank you jac m and thank you everyone else for making my Blog such a success.

Car Karaoke With Beethoven

I've been driving all day so I haven't had time to pick a subject I would like to write about today.
Sorry about that.
I have to leave again in a minute so I would like to show you what I listen to in the car.
It is also a wonderful tribute to someone who passed away too young.
I hoped you have enjoyed it.
Beethoven has always been my favorite.

The Man From Mars - Episode Twenty-One

I rode along side the man in the black suit for about forty-five minutes before I decided I had to say something. During that whole time, he never once turned his head to either side. He just kept staring straight ahead. Hands on his legs, palms down, and sitting up as straight as possible.
I kept peaking at him from the corner of my eyes, but that was getting me nowhere. I had to talk to him to find out what he was all about. If he worked for the Secret Service, why hadn't he called in, saying he had found the fugitive? My photo had to have been passed around among their operatives assigned to my case? So why were we still riding the bus? Why wasn't there at least a Police escort, in case I tried to make a break for it?
I know, by the looks of the gentleman in the black suit, that the odds of me overpowering him was slim to none, but that's not how law enforcement works nowadays. If one officer does detain a suspect, you can bet your bottom dollar that the cavalry is coming in force.
Maybe that's what this is. Maybe he did contact his fellow agents, but nobody thought I would be foolish enough to start heading back to New York and they don't have reinforcements in the area? Maybe he is waiting for a Police roadblock coming up? Or, at our next scheduled stop, the Secret Service will swoop in and surround the bus. Leaving no doubt that there will not be a miraculous escape on my part.
I had to at least say something. Even if it was nonsense.
"Excuse me sir. I need to go to the bathroom." I told him. "If you could let me pass, please? I don't want to step on your feet or anything. Thank you."
As soon as I stopped talking, he got up in the strangest manner. He stood up facing me and backed up, into the aisle. He kept both arms, straight down, along his sides, and was a little bent forward at the waist, and he never took his eyes off of me.
It was like, he was some kind of animal, ready to spring forward onto its prey.
I started walking to the back of the bus, where the lavatory was located. Half way there, curiosity got the best of me and I turned around to see what the man in the black suit was doing. He was still standing, in the same spot. The only difference this time was the scowl on his face. It looked like he expected me to do something.
   Like what?
I wouldn't know what to do.
Greyhound buses don't have a back door going out the rear of the vehicle like school buses do. Sure, you can kick out the rear window if need be, but I am sure the man in the black suit isn't going to let me accomplish that feat.
I turned around, walked to the lavatory door, and as I opened it, I took one last look at him. Now his head was bent down, with his chin almost touching his chest. The intently peering eyes still held their gaze towards me, below his bushy eyebrows. I could have sworn, steam was coming out of his nose. Just like you see when bulls are about to charge a matador in those old Saturday morning cartoons.
I closed the door behind me, sat down on the toilet lid, and took a deep breath.
He was definitely not on my side, I thought.
But what to do now? Wait for the inevitable ball and chain by the Police? Get arrested and thrown in some dungeon on a military base? Never to see the light of day, ever again?
Or is it time to try and use the amulet against him? Make him do my bidding. Use the power of the amulet to destroy my enemies.
   That is when I paused.
What has come over me? To destroy my enemies? To make someone do my bidding?
Absolute power, corrupts absolutely. And it corrupts weak minds too!
I usually don't belittle myself like that. You could say I am a pretty confident guy. But I know, I am not the right guy to wield such power. I have always been the guy keeping the powerful in check. Making sure they are accountable.
Who is going to watch me, if I figure out how to use the amulet to its full advantage?
If I remember correctly, didn't the Man from Mars tell me that the amulet could have been the cause the destruction of his home planet? Could I be holding something so powerful, that certain people would kill me to have it? And then try to rule the World?
I can't let the amulet fall into the hands of any government. Or any one person.
   Especially me.
What I need to do, is return to its rightful owner. The Man from Mars
I don't know how long I was in the bathroom, but somebody started knocking on its door, saying, "Hurry up in there. There are other people on the bus you know. Who want to use the bathroom."
I opened the door, looked down the aisle, and saw Frankenstein's Monster still standing in the same place, in the same position.
I told myself, if I needed to, I would use the amulet one last time to get out of here so I can return it to the Man from Mars.
I'm no hero and I am certainly not capable of being responsible enough to hold such power.
I walked back up to my seat and sat down. The man in the suit sat back down too, and stared straight ahead.
I closed my eyes and found myself instantly inside a dream world. I was back on Mars again. I was headed to the head administration office of the whole planet. I was on my way to talk to the top executive.
In the dream, I realized there were no governments on Mars. Just one corporate entity, with one director, ruling over the whole place.
And only interested in one thing. The profit ledger.
I also felt in my reverie that the head honcho wasn't too happy with me. If I didn't play my cards right, I was in real trouble.
   Trouble?
It felt so real though. My dream. How could I be in trouble?
I guess I'll just have to play out this dream in my head and see where it goes.
   What could possibly go wrong?

Reflecting My Ride

I love this idea.
After being the witness of the aftermath of a big wheel pickup truck running over a bicyclist at night,
this is something I would buy instantly for any of my
Grandchildren.
And when it comes available in the
United States,
my
Grandchildren
will be getting this practical present someday on
Christmas,
instead of the usual toy they play with for ten minutes,
then never look at again.
I was once involved in a project,
as a
Technical Advisor,
where a motorcyclist would have a blue-tooth connection to his brake
and turn-signal light system,
where neon-lights would blink synchronized to the bike on a leather jacket.
Bringing more visibility to drivers behind the motorcyclist.
But the the guy with the idea couldn't get any backing because it turns out he is a flake.
I wasn't going to invest my money when I couldn't trust the inventor.
Patent is pending.
Sorry.
What I really like about this new product is,
the fact that it is a washable spray on product which is only reflective to a driver of a vehicle when their headlights are pointing at the cyclist!
Reflecting light back to the driver,
way ahead of time.
by Meghan Young for TrendHunter.com
"Volvo has created Life Paint in order to help increase cyclist safety on the road. A natural concern of motorists, Life Paint addresses the fact that many drivers don't see bikes on the road until its too late. When spray painted on the surface of both the bike and helmet, it turns both into large reflectors. Cyclists who are afraid of the damage Life Paint might do to their frames, it's not only transparent, but washes off as well. Volvo will currently be selling Life Paint in the United Kingdom, but it's a product that will catch on quite quickly in other parts of the world."

Of course,
there are critics to
Life Paint.
So,
you will have to do the research for yourself
and decide for yourself.
But for me,
I am all for it.

P.S. I have checked two online ordering platforms
and one has a competitor selling a reflective paint.
I don't know if it is washable though?
