A few days ago I returned home to
from my month long vacation,
of visiting my relatives
and friends from the state I grew up in,
One month was not long enough.
A friend of mine,
who teaches at
in
called me up on the Friday of the last weekend I was in town.
He invited me to a party on Saturday,
the next day,
where I would be able to pick up a guitar
or microphone
and play a few songs with other guest.
Just an impromptu jam session.
I wasn't able to make it because my daughter
and her family was coming into town,
from the state of
to see me
and I haven't seen her in over six years.
But the offer did get me thinking.
Thinking about what
once called those
"Glory Days."
I played in a couple of bands with the
Professor
who teaches at
Bowie State.
He dressed like a professor,
back in the day,
at our gigs too!
Wearing a pulled over sweater,
while I tried many personas,
like the punk rocker with the spike wrist band,
sometimes spiked dog collar,
and a
Green Beret
hat.
We were good at times
and bad some other times,
but we always had fun.
"Glory Days!"
