Remember my September 21st Post,
where I talk about how
Stewart Parnell, the former Peanut Corporation of America owner, was convicted of conspiracy, obstruction of justice,
wire fraud and other crimes related the 2008 and 2009 outbreak
that killed nine people, sickened more than 700 and prompted one of the
largest food recalls in U.S. history.- Reported by Kim Bellware for The Huffington Post -
Now the
Environmental Protection Agency has accused VW of installing sophisticated stealth software that enabled "clean diesel" versions of its Passat, Jetta, Golf and Beetle models to detect when they were being tested and emit less-polluting exhaust than in real-world driving conditions. The agency says the "defeat devices" allowed those models to belch up to 40 times the allowed amounts of harmful fumes in order to improve driving performance.

The Justice Department says it's "working closely" with EPA investigators. "If there is sufficient evidence to show that Volkswagen intentionally programmed its vehicles to override the emission control devices, the company and any individuals involved could face criminal charges under the Clean Air Act, and for conspiracy, fraud and false statements," said David M. Uhlmann, a former chief of the Justice Department's Environmental Crimes Section who is now a law professor at the University of Michigan. He called criminal charges "almost certain.
After a week of being in the headlines deceiving the federal government and the public over its TDI "clean diesel" vehicles, Volkswagen has rolled out a new consumer-facing website that aims to answer some common questions and do some damage control in the wake of the widening scandal. Although if you've missed many of these headlines and own one of the affected vehicles, we don't recommend actually visiting VWDieselInfo.com—especially if you are currently taking any form of heart medication.

Once again,
rich Executives trying to wring every penny they can out of a product with not a care on who it hurts,
or how much it costs the little guy.
What happened to Stewart Parnell,
sentenced to 28 years in jail,
will most likely happen to some of the Executives at VW,
but the little guy will be hurt the most.
How?
People will be losing their jobs because of layoffs at Volkswagen,
the people who ship products overseas for VW will have cutbacks,
and it will trickle right down the line to sales people
and mechanics at VW Dealerships!
These are the innocent victims of
Corporate Greed
when
Executives
get caught cheating the system!
