I don't believe I have ever told this story before.
It is why I moved to
California
in the first place.
It all started when one of my friends moved to
California
during the late 1980s.
For a couple of years he would always send me the same
Christmas Card.
Santa sitting on the beach with an umbrella drink in his hands.
So one summer I decided to go to the
Sunshine State
to visit my friend.
As soon as I got in
and he pick me up at the airport,
he kept saying,
"I have a surprise for you."
He wouldn't tell what it was until the day came to go see
live at a small club in
San Diego.
It was fantastic!
I figured if you could a big star like
Ray Charles
at a small club,
this is the place for me.
I love music
and I love all kinds of music.
The tickets were pretty expensive at the time though.
I believe,
if my memory serves me correctly,
they were $30 per person for a seat at a table
and you had to order food
and drinks before the show started.
After moving here I got to see a lot of bands doing the club circuit until the
Casinos
took that over.
Now it will cost you an average
$100 dollars per person to see a good band!

“If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician. I often
think in music. I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of
music.”

That is my story and I am sticking to it!
