About Me

My photo
Hello my fellow Politiores Troglodytes. This Blog is a collection of Posts, Poems, & Short Stories that I write on a daily basis. If you find it entertaining, informative, and controversial, then I have done my job properly. Thank goodness too, because Karma has been on my case of late. I'm supposed to bring fifty people into the fold or I'll have to give back the part of Einstein's brain I inherited. No, I'm not one of the Scientists who got a piece of his brain when he died. Karma said, "Eat this knowledge. It'll make you smarter!" The bargain I made with Karma was, if I could change fifty people into Politiores Populos, I would be rewarded with my very own Lamborghini. So, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! Like what you're reading, then read on. P.S. Populo is Latin for people. Politiores is Latin for educated. Troglodytes is English for troglodytes. And Einstein's brain was stolen by Thomas Stoltz Harvey after his death in 1955 and eventually divvied up into 240 pieces. If you just read that last sentence, then you have just learned something and I'm just that much closer to fulfilling my commitment to Karma!

Stake And Hoe All Vampires

Oh,
how
Television
can ruin a good thing.
One of my favorite TV shows starring
Josh Gates,
supposedly an archeologist of some sort,
stars in
on the
Travel Channel
decided to run an episode about finding
Vampires.
It was damn interesting too.
They even got the chance to interview the leader of a group of men,
from a
Bulgarian Village,
who swore that the recent death of
Fellow Villager,
was making people sick because he was a
Vampire.
They dug up the grave in the middle of the night,
why was the Vampire at home then,
they cut out his heart,
he was only dead for two weeks,
cooked it in some kind of broth
and held a medieval ritual,
feeding it to the sick
Villagers
which cured them immediately.
Talking about power of the mind inflicting sickness to oneself,
then curing oneself with superstition.
It was pretty fascinating.
The show is still good to watch.
The only part that upset me was when
Josh Gates
explains,
at the end of the show,
the above Skeleton,
with the piece of metal from a hoe sticking in his neck,
had possibly a rare disease called
after its
DNA
was tested.
First,
the test wasn't conclusive,
and second,
Josh Gates
said that the
Skeleton,
if he had
Porphyria,
would have an aversion to sunlight,
that his gums would shrink making his teeth look like fangs,
and have a repugnance towards garlic.
I was so excited about finding something new that I could write a story on and I looked into the subject.
Further study shows that
20,000 Americans
are afflicted with the disease each year.
There are two main types of the disease.
Acute Porphyrias
which is the worst one to be inflicted with,
and
Cutaneous Porphyrias
which is the one that the victims have the aversion to sunlight. Cutaneous Porphyrias
can,
but not always,
occur due to some other diseases,
that hasn't been treated,
like a gum disease.
And the repugnance to Garlic?
Ask anyone with a gum disease what the
Allium Family of Foods
do to their mouths.
The show stood on its own merits until they sensationalized it by stretching the truth.

This is,
The Picture Of The First Skeleton Has A Stake Where His Heart Would Have Been While The Second Skeleton Has The Blade From A Hoe Jammed In His Neck,
Jim Hauenstein,

And,

"Her vampires are sparkly, which I think we can all agree is wrong."
- Christopher Moore -

That is my story and I am sticking to it!
