About Me

My photo
Hello my fellow Politiores Troglodytes. This Blog is a collection of Posts, Poems, & Short Stories that I write on a daily basis. If you find it entertaining, informative, and controversial, then I have done my job properly. Thank goodness too, because Karma has been on my case of late. I'm supposed to bring fifty people into the fold or I'll have to give back the part of Einstein's brain I inherited. No, I'm not one of the Scientists who got a piece of his brain when he died. Karma said, "Eat this knowledge. It'll make you smarter!" The bargain I made with Karma was, if I could change fifty people into Politiores Populos, I would be rewarded with my very own Lamborghini. So, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! Like what you're reading, then read on. P.S. Populo is Latin for people. Politiores is Latin for educated. Troglodytes is English for troglodytes. And Einstein's brain was stolen by Thomas Stoltz Harvey after his death in 1955 and eventually divvied up into 240 pieces. If you just read that last sentence, then you have just learned something and I'm just that much closer to fulfilling my commitment to Karma!

Long Weekend

Well,
it has been a long weekend for me already.
I woke up at 3:30 a.m. today,
drove down to the river bed,
rescued a cactus someone threw onto the bike path,
brought it home,
played two games of pinball,
walked 4 miles,
and then ate breakfast.
This all happened before 7 a.m.
I entered the
L. Ron Hubbard's Writers Of The Future Contest
again.
So wish me luck.
(At this time I didn't know they were a cult.)
I want to take a moment to comment on my neighborhood's lack of knowledge on how to properly fly
and take care of the
United States Of America Flag.
(You will have noticed I didn't just say American Flag, because that could imply any country from North, Central, and South America.
We're not the only country in the Americas!)
I can't be a hundred percent sure,
but I haven't seen one person bring their flag into their homes at night,
when they don't have a spotlight shining on it,
and when we have inclement weather too!
I guess they think they are being patriotic by leaving it outside all the time.
But they are not.
Either they don't know the proper etiquette,
or they believe just by owning a flag,
that will make them patriotic.
This weekend we are paying homage
and celebrating the
Men & Women
who have fought for this country,
gave their lives for this country,
and for those who stand ready to protect this country.
Can't these people who pretend to be patriotic at least show the respect these true
Patriots Deserve?
Tell your neighbors
and friends
to use any search engine on the internet to learn the proper way to fly our Flag!
And remember to thank a
Veteran
this weekend.
Why not do it every weekend!

This is,
Thanking Every Veteran I Know,
Jim Hauenstein,

And,

“Honor to the soldier and sailor everywhere, who bravely bears his country's cause. Honor, also, to the citizen who cares for his brother in the field and serves, as he best can, the same cause.”
- Abraham Lincoln -

That is my story and I am sticking to it!
