I Wanted To Read About Space Weather

For some reason,

today,

I woke up thinking about

Space Weather.

I find it kind of interesting that the

World's Infrastructure

can be affected by the weather coming from outer space.

Here is a little help from

Wikipedia 

to help explain it.

"Space weather is a branch of space physics and aeronomy concerned with the time varying conditions within the Solar System, including the solar wind, emphasizing the space surrounding the Earth, including conditions in the magnetosphere, ionosphere, thermosphere, and exosphere. Space weather is distinct from the terrestrial weather of the Earth's atmosphere. The term space weather was first used in the 1950s and came into common usage in the 1990s."

The worst

Solar Storm

on record happened between

September 1st through September 2nd, 1859.

It is called the

Carrington Event.

Our

Government

keeps a close eye on

Solar Activity,

not only because a

Solar Flare

could shut down our entire

Electrical Grid,

but also cripple

Satellites

and

Aircraft

while flying in the air.
