About Me

My photo
Hello my fellow Politiores Troglodytes. This Blog is a collection of Posts, Poems, & Short Stories that I write on a daily basis. If you find it entertaining, informative, and controversial, then I have done my job properly. Thank goodness too, because Karma has been on my case of late. I'm supposed to bring fifty people into the fold or I'll have to give back the part of Einstein's brain I inherited. No, I'm not one of the Scientists who got a piece of his brain when he died. Karma said, "Eat this knowledge. It'll make you smarter!" The bargain I made with Karma was, if I could change fifty people into Politiores Populos, I would be rewarded with my very own Lamborghini. So, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! Like what you're reading, then read on. P.S. Populo is Latin for people. Politiores is Latin for educated. Troglodytes is English for troglodytes. And Einstein's brain was stolen by Thomas Stoltz Harvey after his death in 1955 and eventually divvied up into 240 pieces. If you just read that last sentence, then you have just learned something and I'm just that much closer to fulfilling my commitment to Karma!

History Lost

Are we losing part of today's inside story on our
Society?
I'm talking about the
Treasure Trove
of inside information from the
Famous,
Heroic,
Innovators,
Politicians,
and
Humanitarians Figures
in today's society.
In the past,
and as far as I know,
since man was able to scratch images into wood,
rock,
or soft metals,
we have been writing down our thoughts
and sending them to our
Loved Ones,
Family,
Friends,
Co-Workers,
and between
Governments
and so on.
According to the testimony of ancient historian
Hellanicus
the first recorded hand written letter (epistle) was by the
Persian Queen Atossa,
around 500 BC.
The Roman Emperor
Trajan
commanded that
Positus
(carriers)
be stationed at regular distances with chariots waiting to transport important documents,
this is where the word
Post
is derived from.
What does all this mean?
If
Hellanicus
didn't write down that the
Persian Queen Atossa
wrote the first letter,
how would we know?
Throughout
History,
letters between
Statesmen,
Lovers,
Friends,
Family,
and even
Rivals
has given us an insight to what
Life
was like in
Antiquity.
What am I worried about?
My Dad still sends me written letters
and he is 90 years old.
Do you send letters?
No,
it's
Facebook,
Twitter,
Snapchat,
Texting,
Email,
and all kinds of other
Social Media
where people can communicate with each other without putting pen to paper.
Will
Historians
of the future have access to all of this information
and be able to put together a comprehensive account of today's Society?
Or will they have to rely on what the
1% Of Elitists
tell them how it was.
Social Media
may have brought about a revolution in
Egypt In 2011,
but did anyone write down what was said?
Or,
do we have to go by hearsay to explain what happened.
To me,
the truth about today's
Society,
is lost when you erase that next
Text.

And,

“History will be kind to me for I intend to write it.”

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
