An observation by me.
Belonging
"A sense of belonging is a human need, just like the need for food and shelter. Feeling that you belong is most important in seeing value in life and in coping with intensely painful emotions. A sense of belonging to a greater community improves your motivation, health, and happiness."
I have thought about this word for a long time.
It has a lot to do with,
why I feel people form groups.
So they can feel a self of worth.
Even in the face of overwhelming evidence we have a resurgence of people who once again believe in the
Flat Earth
theory.
They refuse to change their minds because their fellow believers would eventually banish them from the group.
Why rich affluent movie stars believe in
Scientology
because they want their essence to live on forever.
Why people join
Cults.
Why people strongly affiliate themselves with a
Political Party,
a branch of the
Armed Forces,
Sport Teams,
or even their place of
Work.
This is why people join
Hate Groups,
buy lots of
Guns,
and show their loyalty by exploding into a wild rampage of bloodshed.
Why someone would even commit
Suicide
for a group's ideological cause!
And why so often lonely solitaire individuals also strike out in anger.
It's their need
and failure,
to
to
Belong
to something,
to someone,
or to some group.
This is,

I Just Have An Observation
Jim Hauenstein,
And,
“How could you ever feel comfortable if no matter where you went you felt like you belonged someplace else?”
