About Me

My photo
Hello my fellow Politiores Troglodytes. This Blog is a collection of Posts, Poems, & Short Stories that I write on a daily basis. If you find it entertaining, informative, and controversial, then I have done my job properly. Thank goodness too, because Karma has been on my case of late. I'm supposed to bring fifty people into the fold or I'll have to give back the part of Einstein's brain I inherited. No, I'm not one of the Scientists who got a piece of his brain when he died. Karma said, "Eat this knowledge. It'll make you smarter!" The bargain I made with Karma was, if I could change fifty people into Politiores Populos, I would be rewarded with my very own Lamborghini. So, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! Like what you're reading, then read on. P.S. Populo is Latin for people. Politiores is Latin for educated. Troglodytes is English for troglodytes. And Einstein's brain was stolen by Thomas Stoltz Harvey after his death in 1955 and eventually divvied up into 240 pieces. If you just read that last sentence, then you have just learned something and I'm just that much closer to fulfilling my commitment to Karma!

Here Pepper, Here Girl!

Oh,
wait a minute.
Pepper was the name of my sister's poodle when we were kids.
But the Pepper I'm going to be talking about isn't a dog at all!
It's Japan's humanoid robot,
set to hit their stores this very weekend!
Which means today!
(If I have my International Date Line correct.)
Standing at 120-centimeters
(four-foot)
tall,
the robot has a human-like face perched on top of a white plastic body,
with rollers and what looks like a tablet computer on its chest.
I've read where Pepper speaks in childlike Japanese.
(After watching all that anime,
I didn't know there was anything else!)
The software inside the robot can speak
and detect French,
English,
and Spanish.
But this robot was built to be working in phone stores in Japan at first.
"There isn't a huge need for foreign language skills yet."
According the website
"Engadget.com."
The part I like the most about Pepper,
the robot, is his personality.
It features a love of cheesy jokes!
Finally,
I'll be able to buy an audience who will love my humor for what it really is!
Cheesy!
The part I don't like about Pepper is the cost.
For only 198,000 yen or $1,600.00, you are able to bring that bad boy home.
Well,
after you also pay for shipping,
Japanese taxes,
and American tariffs,
then you can bring that bad boy home.
I'm going to hold out before buying one though.
Not for the price to go down.
I want Pepper to be able to go to my frig and get me a beer!

This is Jim Hauenstein,

And,

I can't wait to buy my own Robotic Bar Tender.

So that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
