About Me

My photo
Hello my fellow Politiores Troglodytes. This Blog is a collection of Posts, Poems, & Short Stories that I write on a weekly basis. If you find it entertaining, informative, and controversial, then I have done my job properly. Thank goodness too, because Karma has been on my case of late. I'm supposed to bring fifty people into the fold or I'll have to give back the part of Einstein's brain I inherited. No, I'm not one of the Scientists who got a piece of his brain when he died. Karma said, "Eat this knowledge. It'll make you smarter!" The bargain I made with Karma was, if I could change fifty people into Politiores Populos, I would be rewarded with my very own Lamborghini. So, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! Like what you're reading, then read on. P.S. Populo is Latin for people. Politiores is Latin for educated. Troglodytes is English for troglodytes. And Einstein's brain was stolen by Thomas Stoltz Harvey after his death in 1955 and eventually divvied up into 240 pieces. If you just read that last sentence, then you have just learned something and I'm just that much closer to fulfilling my commitment to Karma!

Stories Can Come To Life

I wanted to tell you a tale today about one of my many adventures across the globe from years gone by.
How I sailed the
Seven Seas
during the 1990s in my
Gemini Legacy Catamaran
At a time when modern
Pirates
out gun the
Maritime Sailor
How in the 1980s I fought off
Pygmy Headhunters
Found a never discovered
Fourteenth Mayan Crystal Skull
in the mountain hills north of the
City Of Lamboglia
Puerto Rico
in 2002.
Danced with
Princess Stephanie
Countess Of Polignac
while we waited for
Y2K
to begin.
How I backed up the
Magic Man,
Don Majkowski
in 1989,
Play on the same stage as
Jimmy Hendricks & Cheap Trick.
Well,
that is a true story because I played at the same club in
Milwaukee, Wisconsin
as they did called
Just not at the same time.
But I can't possibly tell you which exciting new adventure I'm about to embark on today because that would ruin all future tales I've yet to write.
I can tell you one thing.
Characters
in tales do come to life
and are as real as your imagination lets them become.
And as long as my
Imaginary Friend Jason
keeps challenging me to arm wrestling matches,
I believe he is alive
and kicking.
Just like always!

And I Just Beat Him At Arm Wrestling,

That is my story and I am sticking to it!

The Rock Star Syndrome

In a
Post
I wrote in 2016
called
I talked about my
"Glory Days"
of playing in
Rock Bands
with some of my friends from years gone by.
I talked about when I was visiting my family in
Wisconsin
and was invited by
The Professor
from
Bowie State University in Maryland,
to participate in an impromptu jam session
but was unable to go.
This got me to thinking about how it felt to be on stage in front of a crowd.
Which I call
The Rock Star Syndrome.
I thought about the last time I felt like a
Rock Star.
During the 1990's I owned season tickets to the
football team.
On one occasion I took my wife to a game.
Before the game started,
out in the parking lot
and inside the concourse,
The Marine Corps
 from
were outside the stadium demonstrating equipment
and showing off some of their larger vehicles of war.
Just inside the entrance to the stadium,
in the common area,
there stood a
Tank.
It was guarded by five or six
Marines
and they recognized me from working at
Camp Pendleton.
They started yelling,
"Hey, there's Jim. Hi Jim!"
They all waved
and yelled
and I waved back to them.
With the biggest smile on my face.
All around the area people were staring at me wondering who I was.
Was I a celebrity,
a person of prominence,
or maybe a
Rock Star?
It was crowded too!
People stared at me
and talked about me all the while I was walking to my seat.
It was the last time that I felt like a
Rock Star!
My wife loved it too!
Thank you
Marines.

A Moment Of Love

 From
September 9th 2016
my
Post
called
I Can Bare The Bitter Cold When We Are Together

*****

I didn't really know why at the time, but I loved that moment when I felt warm while holding her. What I mean is, back in the day, when the temperature outside was freezing cold and I had the thermostat in our house turned down because last month's heating bill skyrocketed to the point to where we couldn't pay it. There was a chill throughout our bodies, that we couldn't escape. But I saw salvation. It was time to go to sleep, and now I could cuddle up inside the three blankets which covered our bed. Ah! It felt so good. Then my Loving Wife hops in next to me. The person who has been wearing a parka, mittens, and snow boots all day inside our home while holding onto a hot cup of cocoa.
After taking off only here coat, gloves, socks, and boots, she purposely raps her bitter cold toes around mine. Again bringing that chill Up & Down, throughout my body. Still, I pull her close. Even after her frosty hands hug me in places I think will never be warm again. But like the Winter Season itself, it will all soon end with the Sunshine from the Spring which brings back the warmth, into her, my Sweetheart's Body and into mine. It's the Springtime Warmth of holding one another closely. Under a pile of blankets. With my mouth slightly opened, a warm breath is tossed her way, to the top of her hair, as I watch her sleep. I can see in my breath, a faint mist rise above us, as I begin to dose off myself. Then finally, after fighting the bitter cold for so long together, we are both warm again inside our Souls, our Hearts, and our Bodies. It is Love. Just by holding one another. Then, out of nowhere, all happiness is shattered, when that dreaded sound goes off, and it is ringing in my ears! It's the Alarm Clock! Telling me it is time to get ready for work. I'll have to leave her alone now, to hop in a frigid shower. Once again, I am cold.
