It's Christmas - Believe In The Good In Mankind

A Comment left by an unidentified Pessimist.

"It's too bad you believe everything you read, this is a bunch of Christmas crap by Reuters. You should really question everything and believe nothing from our media." 

It is true, 

that everyone should be leery of anything you read on the internet. 

You need to sift through the stories 

and pick which ones can possibly be true. 

I usually find a story on the internet, 

then follow it to its original source. 

Like everything in life, 

a story gets passed around, 

from one media outlet to another, 

with a new writer taking bits 

and pieces from the original to make it his 

or her own. 

Embellishing the story in their own way. 

But, 

I look for a few things to decide if I believe in a story. 

First, 

I find out who originally broke the story 

and go to their website to read the first draft. 

Next I look at who picked up the story, 

as in other media outlets, 

to see who puts it out there as newsworthy. 

Then I decide for myself if it is true 

or not. 

I'm not saying I can't be fooled, 

but everyone needs to believe in something, 

or you grow more bitter daily, 

in your life. 

I'm not sure if I know who wrote this Comment. 

I have several pessimists who read this Blog 

and only Comment when they get riled by my words. 

I'm happy that they Comment though. 

It means I must be do something right. 

But, 

if it is the person who I think it is, 

his Comment is self-delusional. 

This person will only watch 

Youtube Videos 

which scorn anything Muslim. 

He will only read articles spewing hatred. 

And even though I have shown him where Islam is a religion and extremists only use the 

Quran 

to hide their evil intentions, 

he still hates anything Muslim. 

I guess being Catholic, 

or an offshoot thereof, 

the atrocities the Catholics have committed over the centuries are 

OK 

in the eyes of 

God.

In my Post,

I wrote that I wanted to stay away from  

"Politics, ISIS, the Racist Donald Trump, Ex-Jared Fogle associate getting 27 years for child pornography, the E.coli outbreak, and all the other fun stuff I could berate so easily." 

Because of the Holiday Season.

I wanted to stay in the festive mood 

and write uplifting 

or funny Posts. 

Even though I'm writing about militants today, 

the story is very uplifting 

and proves that human nature, 

no matter what your religious beliefs are, 

can overcome the battle inside oneself of 

"doing nothing" 

or 

"doing something"

when evil rears its ugly head.

Somali Islamist militants sprayed a Kenyan bus with bullets on Monday, killing two people, but a passenger said he and fellow Muslims defied demands from the attackers to help identify Christians traveling with them. The attack took place in Mandera, in northeast Kenya. A year ago, al Shabaab gunmen stormed a Nairobi-bound bus in the same area and killed 28 non-Muslim passengers execution-style. Abdi Mohamud Abdi, a Muslim who was among the passengers in Monday's incident, told Reuters that more than 10 al Shabaab militants boarded the bus and ordered the Muslim passengers to split away from the Christians, but they refused. "We even gave some non-Muslims our religious attire to wear in the bus so that they would not be identified easily. We stuck together tightly," he said. "The militants threatened to shoot us but we still refused and protected our brothers and sisters. Finally they gave up and left but warned that they would be back," he said. In previous attacks, al Shabaab has often killed both Muslims and non-Muslims. Julius Otieno, the deputy county commissioner, confirmed the account, saying that the militants "were trying to identify who were Muslims and who were not," and that the Muslim passengers had refused to help. The militants then fled the scene, both men said.

Funny isn't it. 

Shabaab Militants 

will 

kill Muslims 

and 

non-Muslims 

to get the Worldwide coverage they seek to make themselves feel relevant. 
Somehow, 
I don't feel that is what the Muslim religion is all about!

It shows how there can be good in all of us, 

that we can face any danger down 

because it is the right thing to do, 

and it does not matter what religion you belong to. 

Besides, 

Muslims 

and 

Christians 

believe in the same 

God! 

They just have a different name for him.

Put Some Yeast Into Your New Year's Eve Resolution

Why, 

oh why, 

didn't anyone ever tell me about this little secret when I was drinking beer?

With a PhD in biochemistry from Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute and an early job in the fermentation sciences department at Fleischmann's, (Fleischmann's Yeast) Owades probably knew more about fermentation and alcohol metabolism than perhaps any man who has ever lived. Which is the same thing that happens when your body metabolizes alcohol in its liver. Owades realized if you also have that enzyme in your stomach when the alcohol first hits it, the ADH will begin breaking it down before it gets into your bloodstream and, thus, your brain. Are You Ready For Some Football? - I Mean American Football.

Sunday. 

A day of rest in the Western Civilization. 

In some Muslim countries 

and Israel, 

Sunday is the first day of the week, 

just like the Hebrew 

and Christian calendars have stated for thousands of years. 

Unlike, 

those traditional calendars in Western Civilization, 

Israel 

and those Muslim countries, 

Sunday represents the first day to go to work. 

Go to work? 

How the heck are they going to be able to watch football? 

I used to worry about how they could have possibly seen the 

Formula 1 Races 

on Sunday, 

but that Season is over until the end of March of 2016. 

But, 

not to be able to watch 

American Pro Football? 

This is, 

what is wrong with this World. 

More concern for working then leisure. 

Well, 

I'm starting a movement. 

Well, 

actually I'm starting a couch movement. 

I'm not moving from my couch at all, 
all day. 

In protest of everyone working today, 

be they in a Muslim country, 

Israel, 

or a service type job in the Western Civilization, 

in your Honor, 

I will sit on my couch all day 

and watch 

American Pro Football. 

Not 

Soccer, 

Football. 

Join me, 

one 

and all. 

Put down your tools of your trade today 

and sit on a couch, 

eat some junk food, 

get fat, 

and watch 

American Football!

if light travels 300,000 kilometers 

or 186,000 miles per second, 

and there are 60 seconds in a minute.....

OK, 

let me get my Slide Rule out. 

Sixty seconds in a minute, 

60 minutes in an hour, 

and there are 24 hours in a day.....

I never did learn how to use this thing! 

OK, 

I need a Number Two Pencil 

and some Scrap Paper. 

Now, 

if light travels three hundred thousand kilometers 

or one hundred eighty six thousand miles per second, 

we have 60 seconds per minute, 

60 minutes per hour, 

and 24 hours in a day........

This is why they put Calculators on Cell Phones. 

I'm going to use Miles instead of Kilometers in my calculations because I was born in a country, 

which decided a long time ago, 

to go against the grain of the rest of the World. 

Again, 

we have 186,000 miles per second, 

and we have 60 seconds in a minute, 

that will give me 11,160,000 miles so far. 

Since we have 60 minutes in an hour, 

and if we times that by 11,160,000, 

it will give us 669,600,000 miles. 

With that said, 

we do have 24 hours in a day 

and if we times that by 669,600,000 we will have 16,070,400,000 miles! 

Since 2016 is a Leap Year, 

we will have 366 days in this coming year 

and I'll just times that by 16,070,400,00 

and we'll get 5,881,766,400,000 miles! 

Now we're getting somewhere.

Take 5,881,766,400,000 and times that by 14, 

(as in 14 light years away)

and we'll end up with

82,344,729,600,000 miles!

Only? 

If I write it out, 

it looks like 

eighty-two trillion, three hundred forty-four billion, seven hundred twenty-nine million, six hundred thousand miles from Earth!!!!!!!!! 

OK, 

I can live with that.
