I still wonder if there are any
Aliens
out there on other planets
and how exciting it would be if they came to visit.

The Drake Equation,
written in 1961,
is a probability equation to arrive at an estimated number of active
and communicative
Extraterrestrial Civilizations
in the
Milky Way Galaxy.
Back in the early 1960's the group that
Dr. Frank Drake
was working with estimated that there could be as many as
50,000 Planets
in the
Milky Way
that had
Intelligent Communicative Extraterrestrial Life.
That was still in the early days of
Radio Astronomy
and a long before
SETI.
In even in those early days,
50,000 Planets
seemed like a lot of possible
Worlds
for
Intelligent Life.
What came to my mind was,
every story has a
Beginning,
Middle,
and an
End.
The Drake Equation
takes only into account the
Middle Possibility.
What if
Humans
are the very
First Intelligent Life
in the
Milky Way?
Or,
even worse,
what if we are the
Last Intelligent Life?
That still bodes to the question
"Are We Alone?"
This is,
Does Not Mean That Other Galaxies Do Not Have Intelligent Life,
Jim Hauenstein,
And,
“Two possibilities exist: either we are alone in the Universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying.”
- Arthur C. Clarke -
That is my story and I am sticking to it!
