Babylonian Calendar

I want to go back to the

Babylonian Calendar!

They started the

12 Month

calendar

and added a

13 Month

every 17 to 19 years called a

Intercalary Month

 to keep the calendar consistent with the cycles of the

Moon.

They also started giving a

Day Of The Month

off to all of its citizens.

Counting from the new moon, the Babylonians celebrated every seventh day as a "holy-day", also called an "evil-day," meaning "unsuitable" for prohibited activities. On these days officials were prohibited from various activities and common men were forbidden to "make a wish", and at least the 28th was known as a "rest-day." - Wikipedia -

But the part that intrigues me the most is that their calendar was only

360 Days Long!

They would celebrate the beginning of the new year by having a party from the end of the previous calendar year,

For 5 Days!
