About Me

My photo
Hello my fellow Politiores Troglodytes. This Blog is a collection of Posts, Poems, & Short Stories that I write on a daily basis. If you find it entertaining, informative, and controversial, then I have done my job properly. Thank goodness too, because Karma has been on my case of late. I'm supposed to bring fifty people into the fold or I'll have to give back the part of Einstein's brain I inherited. No, I'm not one of the Scientists who got a piece of his brain when he died. Karma said, "Eat this knowledge. It'll make you smarter!" The bargain I made with Karma was, if I could change fifty people into Politiores Populos, I would be rewarded with my very own Lamborghini. So, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! Like what you're reading, then read on. P.S. Populo is Latin for people. Politiores is Latin for educated. Troglodytes is English for troglodytes. And Einstein's brain was stolen by Thomas Stoltz Harvey after his death in 1955 and eventually divvied up into 240 pieces. If you just read that last sentence, then you have just learned something and I'm just that much closer to fulfilling my commitment to Karma!

Why Should I Vote?

I keep hearing this over
and over again.
"Why should I vote? My vote doesn't count. Besides, all Politicians are crooked anyways."
I know,
just a couple of months ago,
a lot of
States
had
Primaries,
which are the hardest
Elections
for
Voter
turnout.
People do not feel the need until the
Big Elections.
See,
that is what
Big Political Machines
want you to think.
They know they can rally up enough votes to get their particular candidate elected,
that will back their agenda,
because that candidate will be owing to the
Political Machine
that got them elected.
They will always be in the back pockets of those running the
Machine.
Let me tell you a little story about voting
and how every vote counts.
My
Grandfather,
when he was alive,
was a local
Politician
in the city of
The very first year he ran for public office,
his family was so sure that he was going to win,
that my
Mother,
when she was still being courted by my
Father,
while he was still courting my
Mother,
decided it was too much trouble for them to go out
and vote.
Back then,
the candidates would receive a phone call from the
telling them of the results.
My
Grandfather
got the call
and lost by
One Vote.
If my
Parents
had gone out
and voted,
my
Mother's Vote
would have been the tying vote,
and my
Father's Vote
would have been the winning vote.
Your vote
and every vote counts.
The happy ending to this story is,
my
Grandfather
ran again for
Public Office
two years later
and won.
He then held the position for
16 Years
in a row until he retired.
True story.

In California,
There Is So Much More To Vote For Than Just For
The President Of The United States.
Like The Prepositions On Each Ballot.
Or,
The Local Politicians Who Will Effect Your Life Before Some Executive Decision By The President.

This is,

And,

“Every election is determined by the people who show up.”
- Larry J. Sabato -

That is my story and I am sticking to it!
