About Me

My photo
Hello my fellow Politiores Troglodytes. This Blog is a collection of Posts, Poems, & Short Stories that I write on a daily basis. If you find it entertaining, informative, and controversial, then I have done my job properly. Thank goodness too, because Karma has been on my case of late. I'm supposed to bring fifty people into the fold or I'll have to give back the part of Einstein's brain I inherited. No, I'm not one of the Scientists who got a piece of his brain when he died. Karma said, "Eat this knowledge. It'll make you smarter!" The bargain I made with Karma was, if I could change fifty people into Politiores Populos, I would be rewarded with my very own Lamborghini. So, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! Like what you're reading, then read on. P.S. Populo is Latin for people. Politiores is Latin for educated. Troglodytes is English for troglodytes. And Einstein's brain was stolen by Thomas Stoltz Harvey after his death in 1955 and eventually divvied up into 240 pieces. If you just read that last sentence, then you have just learned something and I'm just that much closer to fulfilling my commitment to Karma!

Herring In A Cream Sauce

It is the end of another year,
and another chance to lie to ourselves.
It's time to make that
New Year's Resolution!
 Why do I say,
"Lie to ourselves?"
 Because,
every year,
everyone I know,
ends up falling short of their goal.
Myself included.
I usually can't make it past the first week!
But,
here it goes anyways.
My
New Year's Resolution
is,
"To Stop Making New Year's Resolutions!"
 Yeah!
I might be able to accomplish this one.
We just have to wait until
December 31st, 2018
to find out.

How Absurd? - Continued

"Professor Deus?" Cried out a colleague of his. "Can I ask you a few questions about your Universe you have created?"
Professor Deus eyes his fellow Professor and politely says, "I have created multidimensional universes."
"Oh, I am sorry. I thought you created only one Universe." Says Leana. A Professor, in the field, of creating energy. "A colleague of ours, now that I think of it, might have mentioned this to me, but I can't be sure."
"Well, whom ever you have spoken to, is only telling you what the rumor mill has generated." Deus said with disdain. "I have not given one lecture on the subject to date."
"I am sorry professor. I meant no disrespect." Said a convincing Leana. "I am really curious why you decided to form a world where the enlighten inhabitants worship you?"
"I didn't set out to do so." Replied Professor Deus. Convinced that his colleague was really interested in his work. "I tried different indigenous lifeforms, to create a self aware populace on this planet. But, every creature I used, had such a ingrained instinct for self preservation, that they would easily give up offspring and their mates to predators. Or, they would eat them themselves. When I came upon mammals, and a particular group I like to refer to as Mankind, as it turns out, they showed the most potential as creatures, in creating a thriving developing civilization. Yet, they too gave up their kind to outside forces for self preservation. They never tried to protect each other as a group. As a community. I had to come up with a solution were the preservation of the whole, along with their mates and offspring, became more important to them then self preservation."
"So, you came up with the idea of this Mankind worshiping you?" Asked a slightly confused Leana.
"Not exactly." Says Deus. "Actually, I am not sure how they came to know I was the one manipulating things. What I wanted was, were giving up ones life, for the greater good, was more important then self preservation."
"I still don't see the connection?" Says a a slightly more confused Leana.
"What if these lifeforms called Mankind, believed there was an afterlife if they died?" A smiling Deus says. "What if, they believed, that they could come here, into Heaven, and live a new life as an Angel? They would think, that their lives, would continue after their death on the planet!"
Deus pauses for a second, then says, "I call it Religion."
"Ingenious." Replies a grinning Leana. "I heard they are thriving and waging war over who is right about which of these Religions is the correct one."
"Yes indeed." Is all Deus says.
   "How absurd." Replies Leana.

What Is On My Mind

As many of you know,
I have been driving for
this year to make a little extra money.
As you all will find out,
if you haven't already,
retirement sucks.
Unless you have something to do.
I am getting off track here.
The reason that I brought up the fact that I am driving for
is,
I am on the road a lot,
and I am always on the lookout for
Reckless Drivers.
A disheartening thing is going on,
on our roads of late.
Thanks to all the
Unlimited Data Plans
cell-phone companies are offering.
What the heck am I talking about?
Well,
people are not paying attention to the road,
while they are driving,
because they are watching
on their cell-phones!

Gregg Popovich has blunt answer for why giving back is so important.
By
"Those who follow the NBA regularly know that San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich can be a little blunt at times. He’s that way when talking basketball during his in-game interviews, but apparently Popovich has a similar approach when talking about other matters — like giving back to the community. The Spurs coach was asked why he thinks it’s important to give back to the community: "Because we’re rich as hell and we don’t need it all, and other people need it. Then, you’re an a-- if you don’t give it. Pretty simple." Well, that’s one way of putting it. One has to wonder if Popovich had anyone in mind, or if it was just a general statement. Either way, the overall message is right. Many people in professional sports do give an awful lot to their communities, especially during the holiday season."

I like this
Greg Popovich.
He seems like a really intelligent guy.

Let Us All Party Like It Is 1955

I know what you are wondering.
What am I,
as a reader,
going to do until
New Year's Eve?
How can I come up with a legitimate excuse to party right fro the start of this weekend?
Because,
with the younger crowd,
there is no school,
and they have a full week of rest to prepare.
For you older folks,
who now work for a living,
your
Christmas
three day weekend up,
and you are hoping for something special to do this coming three day weekend.
What to do?
You know you want to celebrate this coming weekend in style.
So,
 what do you do?
Let's start the party on
Friday,
December 29th
I know what you are saying,
"What a great idea. But New Year's Eve is on Sunday! What are we celebrating?"
You are one smart cookie to ask such a good question.
I have the answer for you.
We will celebrate,
"The Birth of an icon! TwoBuckHowie's Birthday!"
Yes,
Ladies & Gentlemen,
Boys & Girls,
Cats & Dogs,
Worms & Fishes,
Grasshoppers & Birds,
it's my birthday!
Let us celebrate it like it's 1955!
The year I was born.
Please,
no presents.
Give to the charity of your choice,
even if it is only one dollar,
and that would be a good enough gift for me.

Read, Follow, And Comment

Since I am back writing again,
I would like to catch up on a couple of
Comments
that were left on previous

I would like to thank

I know it is not the
who sang on the

in
2014,
but maybe this person really likes that
Dude
or she really likes having that nickname.
It doesn't matter.
I say,
welcome aboard.

Now I would like to thank the people out there who do take the time to leave
Good Constructive Comments
or
Criticisms
on some of my
Posts.
But,
it seems,
I still have to remind people that I am not a
Billboard
where they can just sell their wares.
Your
Comments
must at least look like you have read my material,
then I will leave your advertisement up.
Another thing I will not tolerate is
Plain Old Haters,
who don't have any
Constructive
thing to say.
Except
Vulgarity
and
Derisiveness.
It shows a lack of intelligence that,
when you do want to
Criticize
my material,
you cannot do it
Constructively.
You have to resort to being a
Ignorant Fool.
I don't mind
Criticism.
It can help me,
if it is said,
in a proper manner.

I like to thank
write more!!!!!
for
Commenting
on my story
I left a message at the end of the story saying that I would write more to the story,
if someone asked me to.
Well,
someone did.
So the story will be continued.

And I would also like to
Thank
a long time

The Man From Mars - Episode Thirty One

I asked Ponleak for a gin and tonic. He mixes one up and tosses in an ice-cube.
With all the fancy extra features this limousine has, like a wi-fi connection, satellite TV, which for the life of me I can't figure out how he gets reception while we are moving, and the bar itself, you would figured the designer of the vehicle would have added a larger cooler for more ice.
I'm sure, as the Man from Mars says he is, the richest man in the world, why skimp on the ice?
"Well George, do you have any other, more pertinent question for me, now that you have your drink?" Asked Ponleak.
I wanted to ask him about the ice cooler, but thought better of it. I didn't know how much time I was going to have with him, so I had better come up with some good questions.
The first thing I asked was, "How come your species lives so long compared to us?"
"Fair enough question." He replied. "Your species too, will eventually live thousands of years. It's just that humans are still in their infancy, as far as their potential and the scale in their evolution."
He pauses here. I don't know if it was for dramatic effect, or if he was really contemplating mankind's future.
"It is my hope," he begins again. "That as mankind gains longevity in their lifespan, that the seeds that my people have planted inside of you for exploration, will eventually take you beyond the solar system. Something I have been dreaming about, my whole life. I am hoping, by giving mankind the amulet, you will use it wisely, and advance your technology to the point, that I might yet be able to go into outer-space myself."
Then I asked stupidly, "With your advanced knowledge, why didn't you help mankind along quicker?"
"Mister Johnson," he starts out saying, with a lot of sarcasm in his voice. "I thought I already explained mankind's propensity to be afraid of what they do not know. Only now, does your species except leaps and bounds in advancements with technology. No longer believing they are signs of witchcraft or the workings of the devil."
I felt a little foolish, not thinking my question through before I asked it. But, the point he gave me now, made me think of a question that has been bothering me since my dreams of Ponleak's life.
"Do Atlanteans believe in God?" I asked. "Do you have, or I should ask, did you have any form of Religion on Mars?"
   He smiled before he answered.
"Yes, of course. We believe in an almighty deity, who created the first molecule and so forth. But, unlike you humans, we don't believe he is benevolent to our species alone or yours. He is too busy with all the multi-universes he has created, to concern himself with one little planet."
He continued with a bigger smile, "Besides, if he did just watch over this little blue planet, why would he let so much genocide happen among its people, throughout the ages?"
I am not a theologian, so I didn't have an answer for his question. So I asked him a two part question.
"Who am I running away from and why?"
That took the smile right off his face. He sat there for a second, then drained the last of his drink in one gulp.
Before he could answer though, the privacy window came down, and a man who might be Tiny's twin brother said, "Sir. We are entering the compound."
