About Me

My photo
Hello my fellow Politiores Troglodytes. This Blog is a collection of Posts, Poems, & Short Stories that I write on a weekly basis. If you find it entertaining, informative, and controversial, then I have done my job properly. Thank goodness too, because Karma has been on my case of late. I'm supposed to bring fifty people into the fold or I'll have to give back the part of Einstein's brain I inherited. No, I'm not one of the Scientists who got a piece of his brain when he died. Karma said, "Eat this knowledge. It'll make you smarter!" The bargain I made with Karma was, if I could change fifty people into Politiores Populos, I would be rewarded with my very own Lamborghini. So, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! Like what you're reading, then read on. P.S. Populo is Latin for people. Politiores is Latin for educated. Troglodytes is English for troglodytes. And Einstein's brain was stolen by Thomas Stoltz Harvey after his death in 1955 and eventually divvied up into 240 pieces. If you just read that last sentence, then you have just learned something and I'm just that much closer to fulfilling my commitment to Karma!

John Lennon's Birthday Toady

John Lennon would have been 79 years old today.
He is one of my
Music Heroes.
What can I say that hasn't been said already.
I miss the type of music he wrote.
There is no one like him.

Always ahead of his time.
Expressing what love is all about.
Telling us all how to make the world a better place.
This is,
Dreaming Of What Kind Of Music He Would Have Written
Jim Hauenstein,

And,

“If you're listening, I'm the walrus, too.”
- George Harrison -

That is my story and I am sticking to it!

So We Never Forget

If you don't like my political views,
you might as well stop reading now.
After 8 years of having
President Obama
as our leader I was foolishly enough convinced that this country of ours had finally turned a corner
and we were becoming a nation of righteousness.
A nation for
The People!
All
People!
But,
White Rural America,
afraid of what they believe is an encroachment on their way of life,
voted in a hate-monger,
perpetuating stereo types by feeding the fears of
Whites.
Sounds like what
Adolf Hitler
did.
Does a
43 Year Old student
at
Yale University
really fear for her life
or does she feel entitlement to the
University?
Since she still lives in the dormatory
and can't seem to graduate.
Sarah Braasch not only called
Police
on a napping student in the common room,
who is black,
but also,
weeks earlier,
called
Police
on a
Black Student
who was asking her for directions!
I'm afraid I won't be here to see it,
but,
by
2045
there will be more
People Of Color
living in the
United States
then
White People.
Maybe,
just maybe,
this country will become what the
Forefathers
wanted.
A
Nation
for all the
People!

This is,
Why Am I Bringing Up This Old News Today?
So We Never Forget!
Jim Hauenstein,

And,

"First of all, in a democracy, minorities do have rights."

That is my story and I am sticking to it!

Have On Laugh On Me

I'm working on editing my new book for submission to
Literary Agents.
So,
for your reading pleasure,
here is a story from
September 15th 2016
 called
I Hope I At Least Made You Laugh

*****
Kids,
you have to love them right?
Well,
one of my granddaughters,
who will remain nameless,
but who lives in the
State Of New York,
on her last visit asked me if I wanted a peanut-butter,
jelly,
and graham cracker sandwich?
"Grandpa, I made it myself."
She is only 3 years old,
so I thought,
how cute,
and popped it in my mouth.
"Grandpa, do you want to know how I made it?"
That is when I hesitated,
but said,
"Maybe?"
"First, I got out two crackers."
So far so good.
"Then I got out some peanuts from out of their shells."
Wait a second.
"Then I got some raisins out of the box."
"OK?"
I said.
"Then I chewed the peanuts until they were soft and put it on one cracker. Chewed the raisins until they were soft and put them on the other cracker and gave it to you."
I was just about to regurgitate the little sandwich I had just eaten,
when she asked with the biggest smile on her face,
"Do you want another one?"

What do you call a fifty year old bachelor? Alone!

I never wanted to be that fifty year old bachelor, so I did what all good Christian Men do.
I surrendered to the first women who would put up with me and got married!

Yo mama is so dumb, she thought Dunkin' Donuts was a basketball team.

This is,
Had To Take My Car In For Repairs So I Did Not Have Time To Prepare A Story For Today,
So I Hope I At Least Made You Laugh,
Jim Hauenstein,

And,

“I went for a walk last night and my girlfriend asked me how long I was going to be gone. I said, 'The whole time.”

That is my story and I am sticking to it!

Carson King's Fundraiser

If you haven't seen
or heard about
Carson King,
here is a really feel good story about a
College Student
and his beer.

As Carson King ends fundraiser with nearly $3 million, he reflects on new fame, the future! by , for the Des Moines Register

What started as a 24-year-old just asking for beer money ended Tuesday with nearly $3 million raised for an Iowa children's hospital. Sporting his now-signature Cyclone-red apparel, Carson King announced on KXnO's "Murph and Andy Show" that he raised $2,959,336 to donate to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital. His viral fundraising campaign officially ended Monday at 11:59 p.m., but donations were still flooding his Venmo account on Tuesday, making $3 million a possibility. A third of the total was in the form of donations sent to his personal Venmo account;  Anheuser-Busch and Venmo each have pledged matching donations. "It's been a really fun, chaotic whirlwind of a two weeks," King said on the show. The Altoona resident became a sensation after cameras caught him holding a hand-drawn sign as he stood behind the set of ESPN's "College GameDay" in Ames on Sept. 14. Drawn on the sign, in plain black marker: "Busch Light Supply Needs Replenished," and King's Venmo handle. When the money poured in, far exceeding anything King had expected, he decided to donate the funds to the hospital. Busch Light and Venmo pledged to match any donations, and several Iowa businesses also donated, including Smokey Row Coffee Co. and an ice cream shop from Prairie City, where King grew up.

This is,
A Great Story
Instead Of Being Greedy
He Donated The Money To A Worthy Cause
Jim Hauenstein,

And,

“Making money isn't hard in itself... What's hard is to earn it doing something worth devoting one’s life to.”

Mikulski Archive For Space Telescopes

You know I love science.
Especially about
Outer Space.
The
Stars,
the newly discovered
Exoplanets,
and the little green
Aliens.
Well,
we haven't found any
Aliens
yet,
but if you are interested in looking at the
Data
for yourself coming from telescopes like
K2,
and
HST,
have I found a website for you!
It's called
Or the
Mikulski Archive For Space Telescopes.
Here is an example of what you will find on this site.
This is a picture taken by the
HST,
or the
Hubble Space Telescope.
Map of HST observations
It's a collection of everything the
Hubble Telescope
has seen so far.
But if you are a really
Geeky
kind of person,
you will also see a lot of this kind of stuff.

So hop onboard.
Maybe you'll discover an

on an
Exoplanet
by deciphering all the data.
There is so much data to go through that
NASA Scientists
can't go through it all!
