El Niño is here!
El Niño is a climate
pattern characterized by warmer-than-average sea surface temperatures in
the central and eastern tropical Pacific, which disrupts global
weather. It
typically triggers stronger storms and wet conditions in the southern
U.S. and South America, while causing warmer, drier winters in the
northern U.S., Canada, Australia, and parts of Asia.
In Spanish, El Niño means Little Boy. But there is nothing little about this year's weather pattern!
Yes, I'm predicting doom and gloom for North and South America. Remember all the fires in Canada a few years back and all the smoke blanketing the mid-western states?
So, bring out your little white masks from storage because the air quality is going to be in the red or above this summer!
Not only could there be more wildfires globally, there could be more tornadoes, hurricanes, torrential rainfall, flash flooding, and so on.
