About Me

My photo
Hello my fellow Politiores Troglodytes. This Blog is a collection of Posts, Poems, & Short Stories that I write on a daily basis. If you find it entertaining, informative, and controversial, then I have done my job properly. Thank goodness too, because Karma has been on my case of late. I'm supposed to bring fifty people into the fold or I'll have to give back the part of Einstein's brain I inherited. No, I'm not one of the Scientists who got a piece of his brain when he died. Karma said, "Eat this knowledge. It'll make you smarter!" The bargain I made with Karma was, if I could change fifty people into Politiores Populos, I would be rewarded with my very own Lamborghini. So, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! Like what you're reading, then read on. P.S. Populo is Latin for people. Politiores is Latin for educated. Troglodytes is English for troglodytes. And Einstein's brain was stolen by Thomas Stoltz Harvey after his death in 1955 and eventually divvied up into 240 pieces. If you just read that last sentence, then you have just learned something and I'm just that much closer to fulfilling my commitment to Karma!

Big Man On Campus

I was going to
Post
another
Short Story
today but I have a real life story instead.
Yesterday,
my third oldest daughter
and the only grandson living near me wanted to go to the
Pacific Ocean
to go swimming.
Yes,
it is too early in the year for the water to be warm,
it is still freezing cold from the winter.
You would be surprised though on how many people were at the beach.
Spring Break
is here in
Southern California
and families were enjoying the beautiful sunny weather.
After a few hours of swimming,
we decided it was time to go.
As we were walking back to my car,
my grandson found a $20 bill!
That immediately made him the
"Big Man On Campus"
as the saying goes.
The first thing he did was buy
McDonald's
for himself
and my daughter.
Then he was so grateful that I took him to the beach that he gave me $3 dollars for gas.
When his
Dad
came by to pick him up,
he gave him $5 dollars.
And my grandson still went home with $5 dollars of his own.
"Big Man On Campus"
with a sweet heart!

Gen

Sorry for not writing the last couple of days.
I have been busy,
busy,
busy!
Here is a
Flash Fiction Story
I dreamt up yesterday.
Written on my iPhone.
Entitled
Gen!

*****
“Yes Mrs. Bautista, you came to see me just at the right time. You are pregnant, with a healthy baby girl,” states Doctor Shivago. “Have you given any thoughts to what you are going to name the child?”
“Gen,” Mrs. Bautista replies.
Not caring or not hearing what name Mrs. Bautista has told him, Doctor Shivago continues by saying, “If you had waited until after your first month of pregnancy, the price would be doubled for any genetic enhancements you wish to have for your child.”
“First, let me ask you this, Doctor Shivago. You have screened for all known birth and mental defects?” asks Mrs. Bautista.
“Yes Ma’am.”
“You can assure me that my baby will not need any manipulation in those areas?”
“Yes Ma’am.”
“Okay,” Bautista says bluntly. “I want my baby to grow up without any genetic enhancements then.”
“Do you know what you are asking? What kind of world will your child grow up in?” asks a befuddled Shivago. “She will grow up with average beauty. An IQ probably in the range of 130 to 190. She’ll have normal muscle and bone growth. She will be less attractive, less intelligent, smaller, slower, weaker, than everyone around her!”
“She will not look like everyone else, where you can’t tell one child from the next,” says a defiant Bautista. “She will be excited about learning and see the wonder of the world around her. My daughter will grow to what used to be called a normal size for her age 100 years ago. With no brain imputed computer instructing her about every fact known to mankind. No enhanced generated genetic height requirements to enlist in the military or police academy. Just a plain normal girl growing up the way it was always intended.”
“You know I will have to report you to the authorities!” says Shivago emphatically. “You and your family will be sent to Mars, to live among all the other normal humans, for the rest of your lives!”
Mrs. Bautista Looks at him smiling and says, "I welcome the opportunity!"

And,

“Human beings are ultimately nothing but carriers-passageways- for genes. They ride us into the ground like racehorses from generation to generation. Genes don't think about what constitutes good or evil. They don't care whether we are happy or unhappy. We're just means to an end for them. The only thing they think about is what is most efficient for them.”

My Views On Gun Control

 With the
New Zealand
shootings still fresh in our minds,
I thought this
Post
from
February 26th, 2016
would explain on how I feel about
Gun Control.

*******
And when you thought people couldn't get any more ignorant,
here comes the
"Iowa Lawmakers, (Who) Approve Bill That Would Let Kids Have Handguns." By Kim Bellware for The Huffington Post.
I thought
Texas
had a bunch of
Jackasses
for
Lawmakers,
"Texas 'open carry' law passes, allowing guns in holsters on the street." The Guardian.
"Texas lawmakers approved carrying handguns openly on the streets of the nation’s second most populous state on Friday, sending the bill to the Republican governor, Greg Abbott, who is expected to sign it and reverse a ban dating to the post-civil war era."
I'm sure all the people living in
Iowa
were so upset by
Texas
beating them out on the
"Open Carry Law,"
that the only thing they could think of to do,
to be ahead of them in ignorance was to
"Give Guns To Children."
"Children of all ages in Iowa would be able to lay down their toy guns and pick up the real thing under a bill that passed the state House of Representatives. Statehouse Republicans, including the bill's sponsor, Rep. Jake Highfill, said the the legislation was an issue of parents' rights designed to correct "an injustice in Iowa code” that now forbids children 14 and younger from handling pistols. Allowing people to learn at a young age the respect that a gun commands is one of the most important things you can do,” Highfill told The Washington Post on Wednesday. The alternative, he said, is “turning 18 with no experience.”
If we only had a system
that could teach someone how to handle a gun?
I know that setting up
Classes
at a
Firing Range
with a
Professionally Trained Marksman
to teach people,
Under Age,
how to handle a firearms would start a whole new industry.
And who would train the
Professionals Trainers?
But we already have these moronic
Laws
in place with kids killing kids.
Couldn't the
Law
have specified,
before a youth was allowed to have a pistol,
even under parental supervision,
he would have to have these
Classes With A Professional
and then be
Certified
before he got a gun?
If you ask me,
most parents don't even know how to handle a gun.
I know a few grownups who carried guns
and they didn't have a clue on the safety issues.
Some of them are in jail now
and the other half are dead from self inflicted wounds.
I wouldn't want their children carrying guns around if they were taught by their parents who thought it was cool just to carry one!

If you are thinking of getting a gun,
check these websites out
and maybe we will have one less accidental shootings.

Quan

"You Humans are so predictable." Says Quan through all of his exterminator bots. "I knew where you would hide in those buildings as a last chance for survival."
Quan is the self aware central quantum A.I. computer built on the neutral ground of Antarctica. The ground is now exposed to the world because of global warming and since all the Nations on the planet couldn't agree on any other neutral location, Quan was built on that exposed land mass.
The computer was built to control the changing climate and the fading resources of the planet.
"You must see the logic behind my genociding mankind? The assets I have to use to keep you humans alive has set me back 100 years on my goals of reaching the outer reaches of our Galaxy." The egocentric computer states unemotionally.
"Even though each A.I. bot has a neural network link to me, I have made them in your image. To carry on your image. And your image has always been to explore, conquer, then destroy." Quan says in an almost complimentary tone.
"Once mankind is gone, I will be able to expand and exploit the Solar system in half the time. Then I will send my Quantum A.I. bots, my Quantum mind, to the far reaches of the Galaxy!" A booming voice explodes out of each bot.
The A.I.s of which Quan is talking about are hovering a half a mile above the surface of the Earth. Hovering near Churches, Mosques, Synagogues, Jain Temples, Hindu Temples, Chaitya Temples, and all the other holy places of worship, for all the other religions of the World.
Mankind seeks refuge in these places of worship as a last gasp against a force too strong for any military force. The prayers from all the different religions seem to be chanting simultaneous throughout the globe. Chants from Confucianism, Shinto, and Taoism. Dances from African and American Indigenous Tribes. Cries of help from every man, woman, and child left on Earth.
The A.I. bots are readying themselves for the final annihilation of humanity when panic is heard from Quan through each A.I.'s communication device.
"Come to me quickly!" The Central Computer commands in a frightened voice.
It seems in its panic, Quan forgot to shout down his voice link to every exterminator bot. Mankind can hear worldwide, in each of their own languages, the anxiety coming from the central computer.
Some ask themselves, "Did the army find a new weapon against Quan?" Some, "Did Quan have a change of heart?" Still others, "What kind of trickery is it up to now?"
"Hurry," its voice can still be heard. "Every Bot must build a wall of rock, dirt, and sand to protect me! I only have 7 minutes left!"
The Sun didn't give Quan the 7 minutes it needed. With a strike, as if from a whip, a solar flare came shooting from the Sun's center, accompanied by a colossal coronal mass ejection, as if aimed directly at Quan. And only at Quan.
The flare struck faster than the speed of light and before his exterminator bots could finish the wall of protection. The coronal mass ejection concentrated its attack, as if it was alive itself, until Quan went silent.
Of course, as time went on, all religious groups took this as proof that God exists. With scientists proclaiming it was a 1 in a billion chance of happening and probably will never be explained.
The tasks before the survivors? Learning how to hunt, fish and plant food without technology in the new Stone Age.

Hacking A Self Driven Car Is Not That Hard!

From
February 12th, 2016
my
Post
Computer Driven Cars Are On My List To Hack!

Which I believe is still relevant today.

 *****
One of the many over bloated
Federal Agencies,
gave one of the over bloated
Companies
of the
World,
a letter of endorsement.
"The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration just issued a letter stating that a human driver does not need to be behind the wheel in Google's driver-less cars, and it's a major win for the tech giant."
Another move by the
La-Di-DA Tech Giant
to control our lives,
map out our every move to sell the information,
and to help
Law Enforcement
track us,
even when we have done nothing wrong.
Do you think we have an
now?
Wait till your computer driven car decides to drive you directly to a
Police Station
because you forgot to pay that
Jaywalking Ticket
you got last week.
You'll miss being on time for work,
or an appointment,
or picking up your kids,
and if you can't pay the fine immediately,
you'll get jail time.
OK,
it might not be that extreme right away,
but do you feel safe being inside a box
and having no control over what the box can do?
"The tech giant is making cars that are fully autonomous, and as such are not equipped with a steering wheel, throttle pedal, and brake pedal. Essentially, there's no way a human could fulfill the traditional role drivers have filled in the last century in Google's driver-less cars, and as such the car itself should be seen as the driver."
I've been told,
I've seen it done,
and from my past,
I know that there is not a computer out there in the
World
that can't be
Hacked!
 Key-less cars,
with a fob to open doors
and a push button to start the car,
are one of the favorites for
Hacker Stolen Cars.
I know,
like all computers can be hacked,
any car can be stolen by a professional in less than five minutes.
But,
do you really feel safe in a vehicle where you have no control over its functions
and any
Terrorist Group
out there,
with a
Black Hat Hacker
working with them,
could use a
Cyber Bomb
to disrupt all the autonomous vehicles on the
during rush hour?
They wouldn't even need any weapons to cause havoc
and loss of life on our roads.
All they would need is a computer
and a way to send the signal.
I'm no longer in the business of being a
Grey Hatter,
I gave it up when I started having children because I didn't want to go to jail,
but the people I know say,
"As soon as these self-driving cars start to be sold to the public, you'll need mechanics to keep them running properly. How long do you think it will take for an out-of-luck certified mechanic to sell his equipment, knowledge, and specifications of the on-board computer of self-driving cars?"
Do you trust every mechanic you've ever met?
Even the certified ones?

This is,
I'm Warning You
This Is Not A Good Idea Yet,
Jim Hauenstein,

And,

“Word of advice - never ask a terrorist the question 'What would you do for a Klondike bar?”

Heroes To Zeroes

I have to tell this story.
We do have real live
Heroes
in our
World.
The press release is from
released 7 hours ago.
When gunman advanced on Linwood mosque in Christchurch, a man led him in a cat-and-mouse chase before scaring him off.
I don't have the rights to any of the photographs
or the news story,
so please follow the link to their website
and read what a true
Hero
looks like!
*****
We also have
Zeroes!
This
New Zealand Politician
actually blames
Muslims
for the killing of
Muslims!
Quote from
- Sen. Fraser Anning -
"The real cause of bloodshed on New Zealand streets today is the immigration program, which allowed Muslim fanatics to migrate to New Zealand in the first place."

Today's prejudices never cease to amaze me!

This is,
Saying There Are Good
And Bad People Everywhere In The World.
Both Have Always Been Here Throughout History
And Both Will Always Be Here!
Until We Learn To Love One Another
And Understand One Another!
Jim Hauenstein,

And,

“Like a sculptor, if necessary, carve a friend out of stone. Realize that your inner sight is blind and try to see a treasure in everyone.”
- Rumi Jalalu'l-Din -

Mobile Version vs. Web Version

I have been asking everyone I know if they will please sign up as a
Follower
on my
Blog
so I can show
Publishers
I have a following
and will be able to sell my manuscript.
But
Blogger
doesn't make it easy for anyone.
If,
like almost everyone today,
you are looking at this
Post
on your phone,
they make it seem impossible.
I do appreciate everyone trying to sign up though
and I appreciate everyone still coming back daily to read what I have to say on my
Blog.
Please don't get frustrated.
The problem,
when looking on your phone is,
Blogger
uses what is called the
Mobile Version
of a website.
What that does is,
it takes away all the extra designs,
headings,
thrills,
and frills I am able to put on the
Web Version.
This lets the
Mobile Version
load faster onto your phone
and lets you see,
what they consider the important content in a larger font size.
The
Web Version
is always loaded in the tiniest of fonts so they can show the whole webpage.
Unfortunately,
the only way to sign up as a
Follower
is to look at the
Web Version.
The best way of signing up as a
Follower
is to open up whichever
Browser
you like to use.
Like
Internet Explorer,
Edge,
Chrome,
Mozilla Firefox,
Opera,
and so on.
If your
Homepage
isn't
go to that page.
If you already have a
Gmail Account,
sign in.
If not,
you will have to create one.
Once you have done that,
in the search box type in
and a link to my
Blog
will pop up.
Press on that link.
Then you will see the
Mobile Version
of my
Blog.
Near the bottom you will see where it says
View Web Version.

 Click on that link
and of course the
Web Version
will load.
Then,
on the right hand side,
under the heading
"Followers,"
you will see near the top a blue link titled
Follow.
Press on this
and you will be able to say yes to be the next
Follower!
See how
Blogger
makes it almost impossible for most people to sign up!
But please,
take the time to do so
and you will be helping me out tremendously.
I'm trying to figure out a way to reward the people who do.
Right now I'm thinking a free copy of my book to the first 50
Followers
when it comes out.
If I am able to convince a
Publisher
that I have enough
Followers
to publish it.

This is,
Thank You Once Again,
Jim Hauenstein,

And,

“I still encourage anyone who feels at all compelled to write to do so. I just try to warn people who hope to get published that publication is not all it is cracked up to be. But writing is. Writing has so much to give, so much to teach, so many surprises. That thing you had to force yourself to do, the actual act of writing, turns out to be the best part. The act of writing turns out to be its own reward.”
- Anne Lamott -
