I have been thinking about this subject for awhile.
I was going to try to write something for the last couple of days,
but the idea perplexed me so much,
that I never wrote a word.
So today,
I thought,
I will just start writing on my observation
and hopefully,
it will make sense in the end.
It's about people who make everything about themselves.
I'll give you a couple of examples to help you understand what I am talking about.
"I was talking to this lady the other day and she told me that her boyfriend always turns everything around, and makes it about him. She told me, that on Sunday, that she had injured her wrist. She wouldn't tell me how, but I suspect the worst. She then said that her boyfriend kept whining about how her injury was a heavy burden on him and how he was now having a bad day because of it."
This,
next example,
always upset me.
"A few years back, I was at a funeral, where the older sister of the person who died got up during the, "The Friends & Family Reflection Time" of the service, and started talking about how this hurt her! How the death of a family member was such a strain on her and how it was such a burden that she might never get over it."
The portion of the funeral,
when people are asked to speak about their relationship to the decease,
is supposed to be about,
Saying Your Condolences To The Immediate Family,
and
The Wonderful Moments You Shared With That Person.
Not how this hurts you,
the living.
We are all grieving in our own way.
I know,
a
Sister
is the immediate family.
What I am referring to is the
Husband
and the
Children.
Condoling them!
Trying to show them how their
Wife
and
Mother
will always be remembered for the wonderful person she was.
Not listen to someone complain on how this death was a selfish act,
and how it was going to put a burden on her life!
Why am I talking about this?
It is easy.
I,
myself,
try not to associate with these kinds of people.
No matter what they tell you,
they are always unhappy.
They are always miserable complainers,
who want to bring you down to their sorrowful existence.
It upset me,
when it was obvious,
that the woman I gave a ride to on
Sunday Morning
was hurting.
She said she didn't need my help,
so I gave her a little piece of advice.
"Maybe it's time you become a little selfish yourself, and think about what makes you happy."
She thanked me
and said she would think about it.
I hope she does.
And I hope you don't mind that I had to get this off my chest.
