About Me

My photo
Hello my fellow Politiores Troglodytes. This Blog is a collection of Posts, Poems, & Short Stories that I write on a daily basis. If you find it entertaining, informative, and controversial, then I have done my job properly. Thank goodness too, because Karma has been on my case of late. I'm supposed to bring fifty people into the fold or I'll have to give back the part of Einstein's brain I inherited. No, I'm not one of the Scientists who got a piece of his brain when he died. Karma said, "Eat this knowledge. It'll make you smarter!" The bargain I made with Karma was, if I could change fifty people into Politiores Populos, I would be rewarded with my very own Lamborghini. So, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! Like what you're reading, then read on. P.S. Populo is Latin for people. Politiores is Latin for educated. Troglodytes is English for troglodytes. And Einstein's brain was stolen by Thomas Stoltz Harvey after his death in 1955 and eventually divvied up into 240 pieces. If you just read that last sentence, then you have just learned something and I'm just that much closer to fulfilling my commitment to Karma!

To Write, Or Not To Write?

I have a dilemma.
I can either take care of my children's needs first, or take so much time out of my day, to practice my writing.
I choose to help my children and put a hold on my writing.
For now.
Thanks for listening.
Please comment if you have an idea how I can do both.
Jim,
That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Formula 1 Racing

Another season of Formula 1 Racing has just ended with Lewis Hamilton won the Driver's Championship.
Congratulation to Mr. Hamilton and I'm looking forward to another spectacular performance from him in 2015.

Transformers

Two nights ago our electricity went out,
twice during the night,
but it quickly came back on both times.
I saw on the news that a transformer in our downtown area had blown
and the
Electric Company
rerouted power from another direction.
My five year old

Grandson
asked me what had happened
and I said,
"A transformer blew and killed all our lights."
He then asked,

"With no lights on, will the Transformer step on us and kill us?"

Get it?
The movie
Transformers!
He honestly looked scared until I explained things further.

And,

Hello To Mr. & Mrs. Beaussart

Hello to all the beautiful California
Fruits and Nuts.
   I'm feeling pretty good today,
considering my asthma could flare up with all the fires burning in Southern California right now.
Nobody said it was going to be easy.
What I'm really excited about is the fact that
Mr. & Mrs. Beaussart,
two people whom I truly respect,
are going to take a look at my blog here.
Hopefully,
they will get a chance to read a few of my short stories I've attached to this blog
and give me their honest opinions.
Maybe they'll give me some pointers on how to sell my material.
Or how to get more readers reading it for free.
   I don't care.
I just want more people reading my stuff.

    Now for some depressing news.
I JUST GOT A JURY DUTY NOTICE IN THE MAIL!
And the local Politicians wonder why less than fifty percent of the population comes out to vote!
   That's all for today.
   Bye.

   Jim,

New Short Story

I just finished another short story called, "Gentleman Jim and the Niagara Falls."
It's a classic tale of a teenage girl coming of age.
Only this story is set during the Depression, with the girl growing up in rural
North Carolina.
The Heroine in this tale accompanies her Father to Niagara Falls as he attempts to ride over them in a barrel of his own design.
If you like to read it, Post a comment saying so, then I'll put it up on this blog.
Otherwise, I'm going to send it in to one magazine or another and see if they'll buy it.
If they don't, it will eventually show up on this blog anyways.

Adios,

Jim

Beetle Spies

I was wondering why this beetle kept flying around my head all day.
The beetle had a
World War Two Flying Ace
type of helmet on.
Wires ran out of his head into a little black box on its back.
I believe I saw a little camera on the underbelly of the insect.
One time the bug flew so close to my face,
that I'm sure I saw an
American Flag
stamped on it's butt!
NSA,
stop spying on me!
I'm a
Red Blooded American.
I vote.
I pay taxes.
I do jury duty even though I don't like it.
I know who the
President
is.
I know who the
Governor
is in
California.
I know how the
Electoral College
works.
I know you are systematically working to take away our Civil Rights.
All in the name of fighting
Terrorists.
Well,
there ain't no
Terrorists
here,
living in my home.
I love this country,
even when it is trending down the wrong track.
Like when a
Government
spies on its own citizens.
Democracy
is based on the individual having his
or her own voice on what they believe in.
Then,
if the majority has the same consensuses,
that is the direction the
Country
should go in.
Now you guys,
a minority,
feel that you know what is best for everyone else in this
Country.
You are destroying the
Democratic System
that made the
United States
the land of the free!
Why everyone is trying to migrate to this
Country
in the first place?
Wake up
and smell the espionage!
You are no longer the
Good Guys.
You're making this
Government
into another
Communist,
Fascist,
Nazi,
Dictatorship,
Totalitarian,
Marxist,
North Korean,
based system that can only end in disaster.
Don't get me wrong.
The
Revolution
will fail
and you guys will win in the end.
You've got all the best guns!
But,
maybe it will lead us back into the direction of
The Land Of The Free!

This is,
Telling You The Military Does Have Insect Spies,
Jim Hauenstein,
And,

“A murderer is less loathsome to us than a spy. The murderer may have acted on a sudden mad impulse; he may be penitent and amend; but a spy is always a spy, night and day, in bed, at table, as he walks abroad; his vileness pervades every moment of his life”
- Honoré de Balzac -

Help Me!

Please!
I need the number
and location of a group meeting for people who are addicted to their cell phone games!
There has to be a twelve step program out there somewhere?
They say,
two people discussing their addiction to cell phone games is a meeting.
So if your as bad as I am,
put down that phone
and comment on this post.
If you're in the same area code as me,
we need to talk!

Lesson Learned

It took a while for me to realize,
I haven't written anything on this
Blog
for such a long time.
I got caught up in the
Technology
the kids are all into today.
That's right,
I'm hooked,
and can't put my
Cell Phone
down.
Once you download a bunch of
Games,
which are designed to be addicting,
Apps,
which are absolutely necessary for your survival,
and all of the latest
Social Media Platforms,
how else can you talk to your friends,
you believe that these things will make your life a whole lot better.
Wrong!
Cell phone companies are pretty smart about what they offer you when you get your first phone.
They automatically add
Apps
so you can get on the
Internet,
E-mail,
Text Message,
Video Stream,
and give you the most popular
Social Networks
like
Facebook
and
Twitter.
So,
your average son
or daughter has everything on one simple device without spending an extra thousand dollars for a computer,
where half of the functions will never be used by the average individual.
That is why computer sales are down.
There is nothing wrong with that.
What got me thinking is how much time I was wasting doing nothing.
Except playing games.
That is important.
I have spent hours on my phone when I could have been
Writing,
Reading,
Playing With My Grandchildren,
or,
just having quality time with my
Adult Kids.
I thought I had a great idea when I got
Microsoft Word
on my cellphone,
so I could continue my writing.
I thought I was writing some pretty good stuff,
until I transferred a story onto my computer
and it turned out to be a train wreck.
Writing on a phone you can only see one or two sentences at a time,
as you write.
The paragraphs came out jumbled
and inconsistent.
Writing on the big screen,
of your computer,
you can see a paragraph
or two,
all at once
and it's easier to keep the flow of the story going smoothly.
So I had to put down my cellphone,
even though the withdrawals were horrific,
and turn on my computer.
It felt so amazing!
Like I was back home again.
Lesson Learned.
I hope I have helped someone else out there in
Cell Phone Hell
with this advice
and I hope I have warned someone away from the devilish
"The Cell Phone Trap!"
This is,
I Would Never Change My Status While Walking
Unless I Had Something Important To Say,
Jim Hauenstein,

And,

“What I like best about cell phones is that I can talk to myself in the car now and nobody thinks it's weird.”
- Ron Brackin -

Answering Machine Message

I used this message on my answering machine when we still used landlines in the 1990's.
When someone would call my number, they would hear, in a typical NASCAR Southern drawl:

Now listen up.
I saw him with my own eyes.
Elvis is alive.
And he said he would call me.
So quickly leave a message and get off this line.
Cause I'm just a hunk, a hunk of burning love.
Just a hunk, a hunk of burning love.
