About Me

My photo
Hello my fellow Politiores Troglodytes. This Blog is a collection of Posts, Poems, & Short Stories that I write on a daily basis. If you find it entertaining, informative, and controversial, then I have done my job properly. Thank goodness too, because Karma has been on my case of late. I'm supposed to bring fifty people into the fold or I'll have to give back the part of Einstein's brain I inherited. No, I'm not one of the Scientists who got a piece of his brain when he died. Karma said, "Eat this knowledge. It'll make you smarter!" The bargain I made with Karma was, if I could change fifty people into Politiores Populos, I would be rewarded with my very own Lamborghini. So, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! Like what you're reading, then read on. P.S. Populo is Latin for people. Politiores is Latin for educated. Troglodytes is English for troglodytes. And Einstein's brain was stolen by Thomas Stoltz Harvey after his death in 1955 and eventually divvied up into 240 pieces. If you just read that last sentence, then you have just learned something and I'm just that much closer to fulfilling my commitment to Karma!

Shout Out

I often look back on the adventures I have lived over the years and wonder if I will be remembered fondly by the people I have known throughout my life. And so far so good.

Now for a Shout Out

    1. Thank you. Every time I hear a new song that I like, I always say to myself, my favorite drummer could play that!

  • i loved playing your music

That is one of the greatest compliments I have ever gotten.
    "I loved playing your music!"
       If I were smart enough and didn't waste three weeks to come up with an appropriate reply like;
"It was our music. I just wrote the basic parts of a song but it took a group to make it a real song!"
That's what I should have said.
    *****
P.S. Shhhhhh! Don't tell anyone, but this Anonymous Drummer also gave me the second greatest compliment I have ever gotten.
       He once told me over five years ago;
"I wonder how far we would have gone if you had stayed sober!"
Actually, I think it is my favorite!😎

    I Know I Am Cool

I thought I would re-post this story since there seems to be a familiar theme to what my grandson thinks about me. I was making a joke that I knew what 6, 7 meant and I said forty-two!
He walked away mumbling something to the effect, "That wasn't cool."

I was watching one of my grandsons this past weekend when he said something that I thought was kind of funny. Here is a little backstory so you can understand what happened.
    *****
Last Christmas he got a Gold Necklace, with a diamond studded
Cross attached to it, from his Aunt.
He is only 10 years old.
    *****
When he was about to leave to go home with his father,
    I said,
    "Don't forget your Bling."
    Then he said,
"You can't say that grandpa. You're too old!"
    My reaction to that was,
"What do you mean? I'm cool."
    He looked at me
    and smiled.
    "Grandpa, you where never cool!"
    Laughing I said,
    "I was cool once."
    Now he was laughing
    and he finishes by saying,
"Nobody was cool back in the olden days!"

    Here I Go Again!

I said I would return to writing this blog after I came back from my vacation.
    So I'm Back!!
I have a few ideas on what I want to write about, but I guess I will make this a diary entry.
    *****
It was a scorching, sunny day, with a hot breeze coming up from the southwest. I arrived at the airport early, as I like to do. It was at a time before the government shutdown.
    Boring!
What else can I write about?
    *****
Well, I plan on writing once a week at first, then I will see how it goes from there.
This is good practice for me, writing on my blog. Because I plan on publishing my third book in the spring of 2026. So I need to tone up my grammar skills before I do. Spelling will take care of itself.
    On that note.
    *****
I had a great idea while I was away.
When I was trying to get a Literary Agent to help me release my second book, I was told that I was too wordy. I wrote like the authors of the 1950s and 60s.
I thought about this and I figure, they are probably right. Those were my literary heroes growing up so why wouldn't I emulate them? But what else was going on with me, at that time, while reading those books?
       I remember!
I was smoking pot which enhanced the imagery in my mind of what I was reading!
So my suggestion to you all,
read my first two books while smoking pot
and they will make a lot more sense!
